MECCHA CHAMELEON: Don't Trust the Furniture

MECCHA CHAMELEON has a funny way of making you doubt everything you see. That harmless-looking fence? It could be another player. The colorful object in the corner? Maybe it wasn't there a second ago. Every match is filled with tiny moments like these, turning a simple game of hide-and-seek into a battle of observation, patience, and a little bit of mischief.

The rules are easy to understand, which makes the game perfect for jumping into with friends. The challenge comes from learning how to outsmart real people instead of predictable computer opponents.

Blend In or Stand Out

Each match begins with two teams.

If you're a Hider, you'll spend the opening moments creating your disguise. Every player starts as a plain white character, but you can paint yourself to match the environment before the search begins. Walls, fences, playground equipment, furniture, and colorful decorations can all become part of your hiding plan.

Of course, matching the colors isn't enough. The best hiding spots are the ones that look completely natural. If your disguise makes another player hesitate for even a second, you've already gained an advantage.

The Hunt Is Half the Fun

Playing as a Seeker feels like solving a visual puzzle.

Instead of charging across the map, you'll need to slow down and actually look around. A strange shape, an awkward position, or a player who moves too early can reveal even the smartest disguise. Sometimes you'll walk past a Hider several times before finally realizing they've been standing in front of you all along.

Those surprise discoveries are some of the funniest moments in the game.

Every Map Has New Tricks

Different maps encourage different strategies. Bright outdoor areas make colorful camouflage more effective, while indoor locations often rely on careful positioning instead of bold colors.

Even after learning the layout, you'll still be surprised by the creativity of other players. The same map can feel completely different depending on who you're playing with.

How to Play

  1. Join a multiplayer lobby.
  2. Wait to be assigned as either a Hider or a Seeker.
  3. Hiders paint themselves before the timer runs out.
  4. Choose a hiding place that fits your camouflage.
  5. Stay still until the Seekers begin searching.
  6. Seekers must find every Hider before time expires.

Why Players Keep Coming Back

The best part about MECCHA CHAMELEON is that no strategy works forever. A hiding spot that wins one match might fail spectacularly in the next. As players become better at spotting disguises, Hiders invent even more creative ways to disappear into the environment. That constant back-and-forth keeps every round exciting, making it easy to lose track of time while chasing "just one more match."
